It's obvious. 99% of the time users (yes all those executives who make decisions which email client they will purchase) spend doing email!!! Sure, there is more to Notes with it's applications but first and foremost Notes must stack up against Outlook, Gmail and anything else.

That is why cc:mail was so popular. Lotus had a great email client. It's unfortunate that IBM didn't focus on the email component and UI for years (until now I'd say). I can still remember the Notes R5 beta and kept asking when they would bring out any UI changes...so all they did was bring out a new welcome page..sheesh.

Email should be be better than Outlook! And with it's integrated Sametime stuff it's very nice in Notes 8. Then bring out a bunch of FREE applications such as project management, document management etc. as ADDED value.
